Feeding Our Future

Building Food Share’s New Home

Total Raised

Goal $50,000,000

Food Share of Ventura County announces the launch of Feeding Our Future, a capital campaign project to build a new 85,000-square-foot food bank in Oxnard, CA. With a 12-acre parcel already secured, the new facility is designed to meet the growing demand for food assistance and strengthen the region’s hunger-relief infrastructure for the long term.

The need in our community has pushed the capacity of Food Share to its limits,” said Monica White, President & CEO of Food Share. “After 40 years in the same location, the need to expand our food bank is now critical. This new home for Food Share will ensure we can serve our neighbors today and for generations to come.”

All Under One Roof

The design concept is a new 85,000-square-foot food bank to consolidate operations currently spread across three warehouses into one centralized facility. The new food bank will include expanded storage space, increased refrigeration and freezer capacity, six loading docks, and dedicated spaces for Food Share’s volunteers and agency partners.

Bringing operational, administrative, and volunteer functions under one roof will significantly increase efficiency, reduce congestion, and strengthen Food Share’s ability to respond to both everyday hunger and times of disaster. The new facility represents a long-term investment in a more resilient and effective hunger-relief infrastructure for Ventura County.

Funding The Future

With a total project budget of $50 million, Food Share has already raised significant funds thanks to public funding, board-designated reserves, and generous Food Share supporters. Now, we are working to raise the remaining funds to complete construction of the new 85,000-square-foot food bank.

This campaign represents the most ambitious expansion in Food Share’s history and a critical investment in the future of hunger-relief in Ventura County.
