Roger Crump collects food for a few people in his community, including family members, friends, and neighbors facing severe challenges—some are homeless, some live in housing programs, and one has had both legs amputated.
“I pick up food for them and deliver it directly. Without this, many of them wouldn’t have anything to eat a couple of days a week. It makes a real difference.”
Roger first came to Food Share through his church, attending a drive-through distribution.
“The volunteers were lovely and friendly. I didn’t know how much food they would give or how fast the lines would move, but it was an amazing experience. Most of the people I help don’t have kitchens, so the ready-to-eat and easy-to-prepare food is essential.”
His work highlights both the critical need and the compassion of the Food Share community.
“There are so many people in Ventura who need food. It’s important that organizations like Food Share are here to help, and I’m glad to do my part by bringing it directly to those who need it most.”
